Presenter Biography:
Neil Carmona-Vickery began his ICT related career at Swinburne University as a computer lab assistant. He has completed a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Media Studies, Information Systems and a minor in Human Resource Management as well as a Bachelor of Teaching degree.
Commencing at Ringwood Secondary College in 2004 as a VCE Media and middle school IT and English teacher, he successfully applied for a School Lead Learner position, that arose from the Maroondah Education Coalition Leading Schools Fund (Phase 2 project).
Using both generalist and specialist skills he helped establish the 1:1 Laptop Learning Program at Ringwood Secondary College. This program was the first of its kind to introduce a full year level 1:1 technology project in a Victorian government school.
Neil completed his Master of Education and joined Balwyn High School in January 2007, as the Director of eLearning, where he guides his students (and teachers) through the process of formulating their own perceptions on the innovation of rapidly changing technology, and how it can enhance the development of their personal and professional lives.
