Marco Torres is an internationally recognised speaker, filmmaker and author on digital subjects. Marco is a high school Social Studies teacher in San Fernando, California where he was named the California Teacher of Year in 2005 and he serves on the board of the George Lucas Educational Foundation.
Marco's passion for teaching is the impetus for his focus on helping students become engaged in learning and acquiring valuable skills which are essential in the 21st Century digital age. Marco believes in providing the training for students to market themselves, because test scores alone cannot and do not sum up the capabilities and potentials of human beings.
He believes in the amazing, creative capacity of students and nurtures their abilities to achieve. Marco envisages digital media as the tools of liberation for people who have lived in comparatively disadvantaged situations and the Internet as the platform on which content will continue to be published.
