Explanation:

 I trialled claymation in 2005 with my own grade. This year the students in all level 4 expressed the desire to delve into claymation.  With the support of the class teachers and Art specialist:- level 4 students (after immersion in  simple animation programs and the genre of Fairy Tales) created a simple Fairy Tale claymation for an intended prep audience. The students worked in small groups using collaborative and cooperative practices.

Within the project there is scope for all students to be active participants through drawing, writing, creating and making models and using ICT.

The  students completed a self-assessment and reflection sheet.

Reflection:

The activity has become much more complex since the previous year, resulting in animation that is more seamless and entertaining.

The exciting aspect of this project is the students drove the project becoming the experts in ICT;

·  demonstrating to groups of students the ’how to’

· writing procedures

·  troubleshooting,  problem solving

· being mentors to their peers and teachers.

A film night is planned  to show the school community the wonderful achievements of the students.
