Gisborne Secondary College is a Years 7-12 school of approximately 1200 students and 110 staff, situated in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges. Over 90% of our students travel to school by bus from neighbouring townships and surrounding rural and semi-rural areas. We are in Like‑School Group 1 and very few students are from non-English speaking backgrounds.

The aim of our proposal is to have all teachers operating as the best teachers to ensure educational equity within our school; we will reconnect our teachers in Professional Learning Teams, open up our learning spaces and develop innovative, dynamic curriculum in partnership with our students.

This site examines just one aspect of our aim; the pilot study of opening up our learning spaces.
